Job Description – Our client in the East San Fernando Valley seeks a talented Senior Staff Accountant. Our client has created a brand-new role to enhance their accounting function.
In this role, you will be performing the month-end closings of the General Ledger (G/L). The Senior Staff Accountant will also perform variance analyses, audit support, and other accounting tasks.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Senior Staff Accountant will have a large role in shaping the direction of the accounting function.
Job Site Status (onsite/hybrid/remote) – Our client has a hybrid work schedule (4 days/week in the office).
Compensation/Benefits – Salary range is $85,000-$90,000/year.

DUTIES OF THE SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT
General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
• Take ownership of month-end and quarter-end closes
• Perform month-end closes within a week
• Record journal entries
• Estimate accruals
• Perform account and bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly financial statements
Inventory Accounting
• Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions
• Develop and maintain inventory control systems
• Perform periodic physical inventories and cycle counts
• Analyze inventory data and recommend solutions for inventory optimization
• Create and maintain financial records and reports related to inventory
• Audit and adjust inventory figures
Miscellaneous
• Assist in all external audits, including working in conjunction with external auditors
• Interact with other departments (Finance, Operations) on all accounting issues
• Accept various other duties as needed
Required
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT
• Bachelors in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance or an equivalent major
• At least three (3) years of substantive General Ledger (G/L) accounting experience, including month and quarter closes
Preferred
• Experience in a logistical/manufacturing/construction environment

• Expert Level Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF Formulas)

• Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task efficiently and cooperate with fellow professionals in various disciplines and both office and out-of-office environments
• Ability to cope with people of varying temperaments
• Ability to take on a substantial workload to lead the team through example
• Superior time management skills
