Formed as a broadly diversified MGA, Paragon supports retail agents and insurance carriers, and reinsurers with our strong underwriting talent, broad capabilities, sophisticated operations, and varied business interests. Our goal: To help our partners do business better. And we do.
This role will work a hybrid schedule from our Avon, CT office.
Responsibilities
• Review information in the insurance applications for completeness; make an initial determination of risk acceptability.
• Accurate and timely entry of new business submissions into MGA Management system for submission clearing utilizing established program guidelines.
• Performs standard duties utilizing developed procedures for account triage, risk acceptability, file preparation, and basic analysis
• Coordinates multiple deliverables to achieve service standards and underwriting guidelines.
• Build and demonstrate knowledge of various underwriting and agent licensing mailboxes, workflows, systems, and service metrics for assigned lines of business and coverages to support underwriting operations.
• Acts in a proactive manner; works with agents and underwriting assistants to resolve problems and appropriately escalate issues to their underwriter and manager.
• Continues development and maintains proficiency in basic underwriting knowledge, file preparation, follow up and program specific rules.
• Ability to build and maintain close working relationships with agents, underwriters, and peers.
Requirements
• Minimum 1 year insurance industry experience preferred or certifications preferable.
• High School Diploma required; College degree or Industry designations a plus (AINS, AIS)
• Proven service-oriented ability with high level of responsiveness.
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage workload.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners both verbally and in written communication
