The following position is to join RTX and the Global Communications team:
RTX Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Associate Director, Communications to support the communications efforts for Avionics – a single, strategic business unit (SBU) within Collins Aerospace. This role is key in advancing business communications, capability-based marketing campaigns and executive support with a focus on the commercial and defense markets. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in executive communications, strong leadership skills and the ability to drive critical communications projects and change management initiatives.
What You Will Do
Business Focused
• Lead and manage a matrixed communications team supporting a single business unit and its campaign(s) within Collins Aerospace.
• Collaborate across RTX global communications centers of excellence including brand and marketing, channels and content, business communications, employee engagement, public relations and government affairs, to develop campaigns that contribute to business objectives.
• Leverage data and industry benchmarking to track, advance and continuously improve business campaign(s) for the designated SBU.
• Provide executive support for the SBU president, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and serving as a key leadership team member for the SBU.
• Champion, support and implement critical communications projects and change management initiatives across a diverse team of executives, employees, and direct staff within RTX Communications and the SBU.
• Ensure all communications projects are clearly identified, align with strategic goals, thoughtfully planned to meet desired outcomes and executed efficiently and effectively.
• Manage and monitor crisis and reputation management situations, ensuring a proactive and strategic approach to communication challenges.
• Travel up to 25% both domestic and internationally
Talent and Leadership Development Focused
• Provide dedicated talent support to communications team member(s), fostering a culture of growth and development.
• Help retain top talent and build depth and bench strength within the Communications function.
Qualifications You Must Have
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or related field and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years’ experience
• Experience in leading and managing communications teams
• Project Management experience
• Experience with traditional and non-traditional communication platforms, including print, electronic, social media, video and industry events
• Experienced with crisis and reputation management

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD – 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
