Role / Group:
Corporate Development is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of the strategic priorities of the company. The Corporate Development team has completed over $8 billion of M&A across 75+ transactions over the last 10 years. This role will be responsible for providing transaction execution support for Moody’s global mergers & acquisitions (M&A) program, including the evaluation and execution of potential M&A targets, minority and venture investments and joint ventures. This position will report directly to the Head of Corporate Development and will work closely with senior leadership across the company including the Executive Committee of Moody’s Corporation.
Responsibilities:
• Provide significant support across the M&A transaction process, including deal modelling, due diligence coordination, transaction negotiation, and contribute to the development and presentation of M&A approval materials to senior management and the board of directors.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, deal modelling and valuation analyses, including discounted cash flow, LBO, accretion / dilution, etc.
• Provide significant due diligence support in coordinating across Moody’s various lines of business, external advisors, and corporate functional areas, including legal, finance, accounting, tax, human resources, treasury, technology, investor relations, and corporate communications.
• Provide significant support in negotiating transaction agreements.
• Manage multiple transactions at once, across multiple geographies and time zones.
• Keep apprised of competitive landscape, M&A market developments and develop / maintain relationships with market participants.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with strong understanding of accounting principles
• 2-3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development and/or private equity
• Excellent analytical and technical skills, including working knowledge of M&A concepts and advanced excel and PowerPoint skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ability to generate senior management-friendly presentations
• Strong influencing skills and ability to partner with and navigate organizational dynamics.
• May involve some domestic or international travel & ability to work flexible hours (for time-sensitive deliverables)
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $110,900 – $160,850, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
