**Job Opportunity: Developer on IBM i Power Systems (AS400)**
• Location:** Troy, MI
• Work Environment:** On-site
Technical Skills Required
• Proficiency in RPG, including RPG3 and ILE
• Expertise in Control Language programming
• Familiarity with internal and external printer files and database files
• Knowledge of IBM products such as Query and SDA
• Proficient in FTP, DDM, and Stream Files
• Strong skills in SQL, including Interactive and RPGILE
• Experience with non-IBM products, specifically DBU and Hawkeye
• Expertise in DB2/400 and troubleshooting database performance issues
• System performance tuning, PTF, and Release Upgrades
Project And Documentation Skills
• Understanding of the SDLC process with practical project management experience
• Capable of gathering user requirements and authoring user design documents
• Ability to develop technical design documents and quality assurance/test plans
• Skills in project planning and managing project timelines
Communication And Collaboration
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments
• Experience collaborating with third-party consultants and software vendors
• Experience conducting end-user training sessions and authoring user documentation
Personal Attributes
• Self-starter with high motivation and strong organizational skills
• Problem-solving skills to identify technical issues and develop actionable plans
• Willingness to take on on-call responsibilities
Preferred Experience
• Retail experience
• Knowledge of Lawson financial software and Manhattan WMS software
Technology Proficiency
• Complete familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
• Familiarity with Visual Source Safe is a plus
