Role Value Proposition :
This role will play an integral role in the UK Reinsurance line of business of Retirement Income Solutions (RIS). The RIS business, one of the largest U.S. segments in MetLife, has a wide variety of products, including pension risk transfer products, UK Reinsurance, GIC/Funding agreements, stable value products, structured settlements, Institutional Income Annuities and PRB & SBR Products.
The successful candidate will report to the AVP UK Reinsurance Client Relationship and Inforce Management and support the management for the UK Reinsurance products in alignment with MetLife’s enterprise strategy. This is a visible role to senior leaders within the RIS Leadership Team and other business & corporate functions, allowing opportunities to influence management decisions and drive results. This position will develop external client relationships as it relates to market and business strategy for the product. This position also interacts closely with the RIS business and functional partners, including Pricing, Operations/Administration, Actuarial, Investments, IT, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Finance. As a leader within the Inforce team, the candidate will support the management of the growing in-force block, helping to evaluate longevity risk and ensure that it is managed appropriately to create value for RIS.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and develop strong external client relationships with various UK Reinsurance cedant and broker partners as it relates to market and business strategy of the product
• Partner and collaborate with Finance, Investments, Pricing, Valuation, R&D, Risk, and Legal to structure deals and manage the in-force business
• Coordinate with key partners to support in-force management reporting, such as but not limited to in-force metrics, financial and operational metrics, business intelligence reporting, data visualization, and performance monitoring.
• Oversight of the automatic reinsurance transactions as the primary contact for underwriting, pricing, and client management
• Collaborate with UKL Administration to support the initial and annual data cleanse activities, including on-boarding transactions to the administration and analytics platform used for longevity operations calculations and reconciliations
• Support the Collateral Management and monthly exposure review for all cedants, to confirm the required collateral amounts meet the contractual obligations and ensure compliance to the Investment Guidelines
• Lead by example to reinforce a culture of listening, accountability, collaboration, and transparency, creating an inclusive and diverse environment where all voices are encouraged.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related discipline
• Strong analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills
• Strong presentation and written communication skill
• Ability to operate effectively in a highly-matrixed environment
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in written form across all levels of the company
• Attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred:
• Strong knowledge in Retirement products
• FSA, ASA or CFA with 7+ years of insurance and/or reinsurance industry experience with comprehensive business knowledge
• Thorough understanding of annuity products and strong quantitative and financial skills
• Experience in life and annuity reinsurance
The salary range for applicants for this position is $134,300 – $179,000.
