THE JOB
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring operating success in the business.
The Operations Manager has responsibility and accountability for driving Safety, training, and mentoring of Branch Operations Leaders /Branch Managers, implementing, and assessing Operational Key Performance Indicators and Standard Work. The Operations Manager will achieve success by executing on both short- and long-term actions to improve operational excellence standards for safety, quality, delivery, costs, and inventory management.
Product Development Project – Bring a version 2 of our highly popular FLEX product to North America markets. Lead all workstreams through their product development tasking and decisions in each phase presenting all results and future plans to a senior steerco including the CEO and CFO. Responsible for taking the project from concept phase all the way through launch. Likely to include international travel.
Reshoring Project – Identify, set up, and maintain a new supplier base in North America for our highly popular FLEX product currently produced in China and Italy. The new supply chain should reduce overall lead time, maintain or result in cost savings, and maintain or improve quality.
V1 Product DeMod – FLEX hasn’t changed much in 10 years. There are several changed on deck that could lengthen its lifespan and improve its ability to continue to meet and exceed local building code requirements. Prioritizing these projects, project managing the resources and tasking into one cohesive project and setting a new launch date with a diluted version of our typical product development process would be some of the responsibilities of the candidate.
Desired Skills And Experience
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Operations Manager who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Operations Manager would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
• Technical bachelors degree preferred. A minimum of 5 years experience in the mobile, modular or construction industry in general building, remodelling, and supervision.
• 5+years of experience leading operations teams in manufacturing environments. This includes developing and managing budgets, creating an executing short- and long-term business strategies and tactics.
• Experience working in a high-profile role that has frequent contact between various departments, executive leaders, and field management.
• Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments.
• Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic, entrepreneurial, time-sensitive, collaborative environment.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; actively solicits feedback to improve performance.
• Strong customer presentation and communications skills and experience.
• Proven experience in a leasing business (e.g., construction materials, auto- leasing) or in Logistics, transportation, or other construction-related industry.
• Experience in working in culturally diverse, operational/functional matrix organizations.
• Proficient with MS Office/Excel/Word/Outlook as well as Salesforce.com or other CRM; experience with MS Project, SAP is a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of your time.
