TITLE: Part-Time Payment Poster

JOB SUMMARY The Part-Time Payment Poster position will be responsible for posting manual, electronic and patient payments through eClinicalWorks while working remotely.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reviews daily the Explanation of Benefits to determine the proper application of payments and contractual adjustments. Properly documents daily payment denials in eClinicalWorks for the Accounts Receivables Department. Post manual insurance payments and corrects all edits. Reconciles all payments that are received manually and electronically transferred in eClinicalWorks. Resolves discrepancies for insurance and patient payments. Analyzes primary payer reimbursement daily against payments received to ensure reimbursement is according to the contracted fee schedules. Applies approved discounts and adjustments as needed. Assist full time poster with the ACH Spreadsheet. Reviews payment portals for remits and payment information. Assist the department needs with projects and task that are assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Attention to detail. Be highly organized and able to meet strict deadlines. Possess basic math skills. Knowledgeable of Commercial, VA Medicaid, Managed Care Organizations, and Medicare guidelines. Knowledgeable of Waystar Clearinghouse portal and Insurance Portals. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters that include Patient Health Information and Employee Data. Ability to follow instructions, prioritize and simultaneously manage all daily task. Ability to think critically and resolve accounts with minimal supervision. To assist the front desk staff with refunds.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES • High School Diploma required. Some College or Associates degree preferred. • Minimum of two years of high volume medical payment posting experience required.
