Job Description
Various Machinist Apprenticeships available:
• MTO Machinist Apprentice(s)
• All-around training in all areas of tool making and conventional soft machining, CNC Machining, hard machining, heat treatment, precision grinding, precision ram EDM, precision wire EDM, mold making, die making, electrode manufacturing, proto-typing, machine assembly and debug, planning, quality and metrology
• MTO Assembly Apprentice(s)
• This will be an apprentice in our Machine Tool Operations group, but will primarily focus on precision machine assembly.
• A vocational machinist background is extremely desired, but the role itself will be more focused on the ability to disassemble, assemble, and debug our multi-million dollar assembly equipment machines
• MTO Metal Fabrication Apprentice:
• This will be an apprentice in our Machine Tool Operations group as well, but is specifically an apprenticeship for sheet metal forming and welding.
• R&D Die Maker Apprentice:
• High precision metal forming die design, build, assembly, installation, debug and support
• Integration of Die into complete Metal Forming Systems/Lines
• Worldwide Installations
• R&D new product, Engineering new equipment design and build
• Computer Aided Design
• SBMC Mold & Die Shop Apprentice(s):
• Maintenance and improvement of all die sets (Metals Stamping Dies (AS/JS/Singulator/RBS/Clip), Perforating, Assembly Clip) utilizing best in practice standards and tools
• Working from engineering drawings, sketches and or verbal instructions to perform highly diversified operations to specifications
• Assist in training workforce in proper setup and use of equipment/systems
• Correcting any inadequacies in prints, materials, route sheets and maintenance standards
• Maintaining I-Quality standards related to work procedures and tool/machine maintenance
Job Qualifications
All applicants must:
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education
• Be willing to wear safety shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection.
• Assets for this Position:
– Graduate from high school with a technical, trade, or vocational background.
– Have a background in machine shop technologies.
– Knowledge of blueprint reading.
– Understanding of shop related math.
Starting Pay / Salary Range: $24.15/hour
