Job Title: Senior Customs Compliance/Logistics Analyst
Salary Range: $80,200 – $100,000.00/annual; plus, bonus eligibility
Summary: Ensure that products, imported and exported, comply with U.S. and international trade regulations. Analyze trade laws and assess probable impacts on business goals while gauging and mitigating potential corporate compliance risks. Create and implement internal policies and procedures that clearly outline and promote company-wide compliance with U.S. and international Customs regulations, trade laws and shipping requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a subject matter expert on international trade and US Customs regulations for the Acushnet Golf Club Operations, and implement appropriate actions for enhancements, as needed. Work in conjunction with Research and Development, Purchasing and Vendors to successfully carry out product launches. Collaborate with all suppliers and Customs Brokers to ensure import and export activities are compliant with US Customs, Partner Government Agencies and Export Administration Regulations. Address discrepancies via Post Summary Corrections and Protests.
• Evaluate current practices, export software programs and methods to sustain compliance with all US Customs and export regulations; facilitate changes as needed.
• Develop and manage comprehensive Import compliance SOPs and policies manuals. This will include conducting training and enforcing US Customs regulations across all departments within the Golf Club Operations.
• Conduct internal self-audits and self-assessments to evaluate the Import/Export compliance status of the company, by regularly reviewing procedures for: Classification, Valuation (including Tooling Costs, item returns, etc.), Export Filing, ECCN, C-TPAT, Preferential Trade Agreement eligibility, Duty Drawback, etc. Manage Periodic Monthly Statements and submit to Accounting for payment.
• Manage, update, and maintain the Customs Compliance Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Database to ensure Acushnet Club merchandise is assigned proper HTS classification, Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) and country of origin. Make sure all marking and related Partner Government Agencies (PGA) requirements are satisfied. Review Preferential Trade Agreement eligibility and prepare applicable certificates. Execute annual affidavits of origin collection from vendors.
• Conduct internal Compliance training across all levels of organization, as required and or needed.
• Other import/export-related duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required. US Customs Brokerage license required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience working as both an Import/Export and US Customs Compliance Analyst required.
• Knowledge of the current regulations, policies, and laws affecting global trade is required and include: Knowledge of the HTS, General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs), Valuation, Rules of Origin, Free Trade Agreements, C-TPAT, and ECCN.
• Active team player with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Detail-oriented and process driven, with a commitment to accuracy and follow-through. Proactive and a self-starter, with the ability to prioritize, multitask and manage time-sensitive projects.
• Thrives under pressure. Possesses analytical, problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
• Experienced in software such as MS Office and ERP systems.
• Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
