Job Summary
Delivers direct patient care to individuals of all ages, from birth through geriatric, and documents this care according to policy and procedure guidelines. Will perform additional patient care and operational duties for the Speech Pathology and Audiology Department as required, maintaining a positive attitude throughout. Also, will provide speech therapy services to outreach sites as needed.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
• Demonstrates intelligent use of critical thinking and practical judgment in the provision of healthcare services. Conducts all forms of therapy as per accepted national guidelines, departmental regulations and evidence-based strategies. Offers treatment that meets or surpasses the department’s required outcome standards.
• Documents that provide support for medical necessity are prepared in accordance with department standards, with great attention to detail and timely reporting.
• Provides necessary documents to ensure accurate billing, correct fees, and authorized authorizations within reasonable timeframes. Shows appropriate time management skills consistent with the department’s productivity standards.
• Strives to achieve a high level of competency and proficiency in work, which displays a strong commitment to quality.
• Administers monitoring to meet the guidelines set by regulatory bodies and professional associations.
• Supports and encourages patients, their family, and their caregivers to engage in healthy behaviors, such as physical activity, smoking cessation, and a healthy diet.
• Follows all insurance and regulatory requirements as prescribed by accreditation, state and national agencies.
• All other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Education – Masters degree in Speech Pathology
Certification – SD Speech Language Pathology License – South Dakota Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology; Certificate of Clinical Competence – American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA)
Preferred:
Experience – 1+ years of Rehabilitation Experience
Certification – Speech Therapist (ST) Certification – American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA)
Physical Requirements:
Moderate-level physical activity – Utilizing up to 50 pounds of force on occasion, or up to 30 pounds of force regularly, or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to shift objects. There be could be a potential risk of exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
