About Houston
• ExxonMobil’s state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.
• By bringing many global functional groups together, the campus provides employees with the tools and capabilities needed today, and in the future, to achieve business objectives and accelerate the discovery of new resources, technologies and products. It was designed to foster improved collaboration, creativity and innovation and enhance the company’s ability to attract, develop and retain the top talent in the industry.
• The campus is located in Spring, Texas, on 385 wooded acres immediately to the west of Interstate Highway 45 (I-45), at the intersection of I-45 and the Hardy Toll Road, approximately 25 miles from the cultural vibrancy of downtown Houston.

What role you will play in our team
• Reporting within the Upstream Strategy and Business Development organization, you will have the opportunity to contribute your business development and commercial expertise to a range of Upstream businesses and projects.
• As a Business Development Advisor, you will help shape our portfolio. You will be leading deals in our Acquisitions and Divestments group, representing ExxonMobil in joint ventures or partner negotiations, or commercializing projects aligned with our Upstream Strategy.
• This position is located in Spring, Texas, at the ExxonMobil campus.
What you will do
• Negotiate and execute agreements for commercialization of new opportunities or sales of existing assets
• Serve as an internal interface for commercialization of opportunities in relevant portfolio to ensure alignment, and as necessary, to obtain endorsement
• Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with market participants and external stakeholders, including acting as contact for key counterparties
• Support development, prioritization, and selection of commercial and technical concepts for acquisitions, divestments, or capital project investments
• Employ ExxonMobil and industry commercial practices, processes, tools and procedures
• Develop and maintain knowledge of market fundamentals, relevant deals, regulations, and standard transaction contracting practices
Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in engineering, business, finance, or a related field
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in sales, marketing, or business development
• Experience in acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, and/or partner management
• Strong understanding of project economics and value driven decisions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to time pressures and changing priorities
• Effective at collaboration and networking
• Demonstrate sound business judgment
• Strong leadership skills and ability to work beyond area of responsibility
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/ Experience
• Experience in drafting agreements, term sheets, and contracts
• M&A experience in the energy industry preferred (including LNG, unconventionals, deepwater, heavy oil, etc.)
• Technical or commercial experiences in the energy industry preferred
• Demonstrated history of prior deal experience
