Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 1 Years, A law firm in New York City, NY is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will handle a diverse range of workers’ compensation claims, including file review, legal analysis, and litigation. This role requires strong writing and research skills, as well as the ability to manage a high caseload, represent clients effectively, and prepare for trials. The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in New York and possess a strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Duties:Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of workers’ compensation claims.Perform extensive legal research and draft client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals, and appellate briefs.Regularly represent clients at depositions and hearings before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.Prepare for and attend trials, including developing trial strategies and presenting cases.Retain and evaluate expert witnesses as needed.Maintain an annual billable hour requirement of 1950 hours.Respond promptly to email and phone inquiries from clients and colleagues.Demonstrate strong client skills and a professional telephone manner.Requirements:J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.Admitted to practice in the state of New York; admission in additional states is a plus.Minimum of 1+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably with a focus on workers’ compensation.Exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.Solid research skills and strong written and oral communication capabilities.Ability to self-manage a high caseload while working effectively in a team environment.Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting the annual billable hour requirement.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.Certifications:Admitted to practice law in New York; admission to additional states is advantageous.Skills:Advanced legal research and drafting skills.Strong litigation and trial preparation abilities.Proficiency in managing workers’ compensation claims and related legal proceedings.Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle a high volume of cases and meet billable hour targets.Effective time management and organizational skills.High level of professionalism and responsiveness.Benefits:Competitive compensation and benefits package, including healthcare and retirement benefits.Engaging employee wellness program.Mentoring program and charitable matching program.Innovative financial incentive bonus program that rewards entrepreneurial initiative.Proactive support and training for marketing objectives.Excellent benefits, including 401(k) match.Exceptional growth and advancement opportunities within the firm.
