Overview
The VP, Product Development will lead a matrixed team to prioritize and deliver new solutions to the market. This role will define and lead Cotiviti’s strategy to deliver new payment integrity solutions leveraging our leading industry position and expertise to focus. This individual will have responsibility for leading a team and personally understanding and prioritizing market needs, performing competitive analysis, engaging experts within and outside our organization, defining solutions for new market needs, and leading delivery and product launches for new offerings.
Reporting to SVP of Enterprise Product, this individual will have ownership and accountability for product vision, features and functions, packaging, and market impact for innovations for new Payment Policy offerings including Pre-Adjudication Editing and Pharmacy Benefit / PBM claim Editing. In addition, this role will have oversight for three Product Development Directors responsible for ideation, design and launch of new market solutions for other business units. The successful candidate will demonstrate a unique blend of leadership, product and market domain expertise, business acumen, creativity, business judgment, entrepreneurial spirit, industry knowledge, and analytical knowledge.
Responsibilities
The VP, Product Development will lead a cross-sectional, matrixed team in implementing and overseeing a customer- and sales-driven approach to building and launching products into the marketplace. Key responsibilities include:
• Vision: Leverages his/her subject matter expertise to provide input into Cotiviti’s strategic plan for the Payment Integrity and RQNC verticals with additional focus on entering the Pharmacy Payment Integrity market; collaborates with executive leadership to develop targets for annual booking, revenue, expenses, and client satisfaction. Is an evangelist for the Voice of the Customer in new product development.
• Strategy: Drives the strategic leadership, guidance, and tactical direction for area of responsibility. Responsible for ensuring appropriate prioritization of candidate product and service investments.
• Product development: Leads cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Sales, BU Operations, R&D) to develop and launch new products. Aligns with BU and R&D processes (e.g. SAFe Agile) as well as Product Management teams for delivering capabilities. Defines success criteria and reviews product performance against expectations and facilitates or influences changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimal product performance.
• Go to Market: Establishes overall Go to Market strategy for all products within the strategic solutions set. Owns definition of customer experience for End-to-End solutions. Leads completion and upkeep of R2M (Ready to Market) and R2S (Ready to Sell) tools, content and training.
• Team leadership: Oversee management of personnel and processes related to product development, including Product Development directors as well as shared Product Team resources. Assist BU leaders in defining core processes and staffing needs to support new solutions.
• Coaching: Is a champion for the discipline of product development and product management practices, ensuring that teams have essential tools, processes, and skill sets to build out product and service roadmaps that align with Cotiviti’s strategic and operational plans.
• Growth: Accountable for developing solutions that support profitability, efficiency, and growth targets. Leads others in the design and development of new products. Asks good questions to fully understand client need and engages others to solve those challenges. Assists in the development of pricing strategies to maximize overall returns.
• Quality: Works closely with technology, operations, and senior leadership to ensure releases are of the highest quality, and that his/her team can demonstrate progress against quality goals through clear metrics.
• Hire, develop, coach, lead and retain top-tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that is able to assist in employing best in class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
• Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information technology, or equivalent professional experience required; Master of Business Administration degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience, with increasing levels of responsibility and oversight, managing Product, Operations, or Professional Services.
• Demonstrated success defining, building and launching new products to the marketplace
• Minimum 5 years’ experience preferred in healthcare industry with previous leadership experience in appropriate domain, strong personnel management, presentation skills, customer (internal/external) problem diagnostics and solution design.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working for PBM or in health plan with focus on pharmacy benefit administration. Subject matter expertise in specialty Rx and commercial pharmacy operations and payments.
• Direct relationships with PBM industry insiders with the ability to engage the market to understand unique requirements and influence potential buyers.
• Proactive leader with proven experience in strategic and tactical leadership with the ability to pursue and understand cutting edge technologies.
• Proven experience in growth-oriented businesses in the healthcare information and analytics space with strong competencies in developing and leading product development and strategy.
• Excellent “coach” who is results oriented, and can build and motivate high performance teams.

Base compensation ranges from $180,000.00 to $220,000.00. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
