Advanced professional work in overseeing JAA’s regulatory compliance function. Position oversees, coordinates, and provides guidance on general and complex aviation specific issues of federal, state, and local rules, regulations, requirements, and minimum standards regarding airport development, construction, administration, operations, infrastructure, environmental matters, and public policy impacting Jacksonville Aviation Authority and its airport system, staff, tenants, concessionaire, vendors, and traveling public. Work requires knowledge and experience with aviation law and the regulatory framework and agencies associated with the same, including but not limited to the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and various departments within the City of Jacksonville (COJ). Contacts with others require the possession of excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence people, supervise and/or coordinate staff, collaborate internally and externally, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations to which JAA is subject.
Required Education & Experience:
Juris Doctorate (JD) degree and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a regulatory compliance environment or a closely related field.
Preferred Education & Experience: Prior experience in aviation.
Licenses & Certifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E driver’s license. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.
