OverviewThe Vermont Veterans’ Home is currently seeking to hire part-time VVH Institutional Custodians. These positions may include Housekeeping and/or Laundry job duties. Housekeeping duties are mopping, sweeping, dusting, trash removal, cleaning of living spaces and common areas. Laundry duties are laundering linens and personal clothing, sorting, and folding, delivery and pickup of laundry as well as operation of laundry machines.These are temporary positions working approximately 24 hours per week. We have openings on the 6am – 2:30pm shift, and 11am to 7:30pm shift. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Good physical condition required. Considerable standing, walking, lifting, and carrying of heavy objects may be required. Weekend and evening hours may be required. Duties are performed in a nursing home environment, including office, common areas and patient care areas. Direct interactions with patients may be extensive, leading to potential exposure to infectious disease or physical injury.
