Overview
The Utility Associate maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas by using the dish machine properly, storing equipment and utensils properly, and maintaining a clean workstation in order to comply with safety and sanitation standards. This role also helps ensure that the workplace follows all safety regulations, reports any safety hazards if they appear, cleans spills, and implements energy conservation techniques where applicable. This role provides food services directly to patients as needed.
Responsibilities
Operates the dish machine in order to wash the dishes, glasses, cups, trays, silverware and food service equipment after use. Keeps the dish machine area clean and checks the temperatures and soap dispensing levels in order to properly use and maintain the machine. Empties and moves garbage to dumpster site as well as keeping the rear loading dock and dumpster area clean and free of debris in order to be available for car or truck use. Follows established procedures for the storage of dry and perishable goods, supplies, and equipment pertaining to the dining department in order to meet safety standards. Identifies and uses the appropriate cleaning agents, solutions, and equipment for specific assignments in order to ensure the safety of all surfaces against damage as well as the safety of the staff and residents. Operates and maintains equipment in accordance with the department or manufacturer’s specifications so that no damage or excessive wear and tear occurs.Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE:Required: 0-2 years
