Multiple opportunities for Conventional, Certified DE or SAR/LAPP Underwriters. Lewisville, TX, Lake Forest, CA and Chandler, AZ. The Mortgage Underwriter reviews loans to assess risk in compliance with company guidelines and state and federal reporting guideline and approves or declines loans.
Essential Functions:
• Ensures data integrity to confirm the accuracy of automated underwriting findings.
• Strictly adheres to internal underwriting guidelines, investor requirements and federal regulations to ensure loan quality.
• Verifies and analyzes all documentation, including credit, income, appraisal and title information.
• Interacts with loan officers or loan processors to obtain information from the borrower or to seek clarification about documents in the loan file.
• Effectively communicates required conditions/stipulation and assists where possible to expedite the verified approval on loans.
Qualifications:
• Graduation from a 4-years college or university with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position. Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Advanced analysis skills in the areas of credit, layered risk, and income.
• Ability to underwriting loans at a national level and in all markets.
• 1+ years of frontline Conventional/Conforming Underwriting experience.
• Basic computer skills required.
