About The Position 172 bed, Level II Trauma, Teaching Hospital.The only Trauma Center in Monterey County, as well as many other surrounding communities. Voted “Best Hospital in Salinas Valley” (out of 3 hospitals) by Salinas Valley Reader’s Choice• 2022 Department Notes 8 LDR, 2 Triage (serves as Pre-Op for C-Sections), 2 OR, 2 PACU beds.NMC tends to see a lot of high risk patients due to a high diabetic population.Will not perform inductions less than 39 weeks.Will perform external versions and second trimester cerclages on the day shift only.NMC follows AWHONN’s Standards for Professional Registered Nurse Staffing which is if patient is 6cm or greater dilated• 1:1 ratio; Magnesium drip or insulin drip• 1:1 ratio; otherwise all other will be 1:2 ratio.If there is a scheduled C-Section, the RN will follow that patient through entire care until sign off. Specialty Profile Notes Minimum 2 years experience working in L&D setting Requirements: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of California, BLS and ACLS issued through American Heart Association, NRP, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification or equivalent. Shifts: 6:45AM-7:15PM and 6:45PM-7:15AM.Will work 3-4 (12 hour) weekend shifts on a 28 day schedule.There is self-scheduling in Women’s Services and will be given to the staff first, then travelers.The Director and leaders will then balance the schedule based on experience and skill set.
