Job Description
• Perform direct patient cardiac diagnostic testing procedures with appropriate skill level in a timely and dependable manner, consistent with current standards of care and departmental or hospital policy and procedure.
• Provide age-specific care to patients of all ages.
• Serve as a professional resource to physicians, nursing staff, and all other hospital staff.
• Accurately perform all echocardiogram studies ordered by physicians, including but not limited to Transthoracic 2-D, M-Mode, Color-flow Doppler, Transesophageal, Exercise stress, and pharmacological echocardiography.
• Accurately conduct other cardiac diagnostic studies as assigned, including but not limited to EKG, Holter prep, monitoring and analysis, and Cardiac stress tests.
• Correctly utilize mechanical devices to provide the best diagnostic information to cardiology physicians, including utilizing echocardiographs, cardiac stress systems, electrocardiographs, Holter monitors, and computer analysis.
• Accurately access hospital information systems for scheduling, processing, and correct charging of all studies.
• Implement appropriate infection control practices and demonstrate a working knowledge of aseptic techniques and equipment disinfection.
• Interact with students from contracted colleges and universities, providing preceptorship and clinical guidance as per contracted agreements.
• Demonstrate the ability to perform cardiac diagnostic tests following age-specific guidelines and procedures, specifically with neonatal and pediatric patients.
• Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
