Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for Trade Compliance functions, as single point of contact for trade related matters within the local business in Process Automation Energy Industries in the United States, ensuring smooth execution of operational trade and customs activities. You will support Local Business management in ensuring that all local business processes are aligned with ABB Trade policies and guidelines, as well as to provide the local business staff with hands-on guidance in complying with trade related requirements and in pursuing strategic trade objectives.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries division.
You will be mainly accountable for:
• Create and maintain written procedures and guidelines for local business compliance with export control and sanctions, as well as customs compliance requirements
• Implement and maintain a general export control and customs compliance awareness program for local business staff and provide trade related training to employees
• Ensure the classification of all exported and imported products/software/technology with respect to national export control and customs lists where applicable. Primary responsibility for execution of product classifications will reside with Product Classification Engineers
• Promote cross-functional collaboration (Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Supplier Quality, etc.) for end-to-end continuous improvement related to trade management and trade compliance

Qualifications for the role
• BA/BS MBA, as a preference, Customs Brokerage License is preferred with > 10 years of experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in international trade compliance and procedural structures related to business processes in operations.
• Sound knowledge of rules and regulations related to export controls and customs in the United States, as well as knowledge of US export control classification systems
• Computer and Management Systems : GTS/SAP, SharePoint, MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
