About Us
The Country Club of the South is a premier golf and tennis club with a fitness operation dedicated to providing our members with specialized training programs tailored to their unique needs. Our mission is to enhance our members’ physical fitness and overall well-being through customized fitness plans and expert guidance. We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Tennis Fitness Specialist to join our team.
Job Summary
As a Tennis Fitness Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing fitness programs tailored specifically for tennis players. Your primary goal will be to improve members’ physical performance on the tennis court, prevent injuries, and enhance their overall health and fitness. You will work closely with clients to assess their physical condition, identify areas for improvement, and develop customized fitness plans that align with their tennis goals.
Day-to-Day
• Conduct comprehensive fitness assessments for tennis players, including physical evaluations and biomechanical analyses.
• Develop and implement personalized fitness programs that focus on agility, strength, balance, and endurance specific to tennis.
• Provide expert instruction and guidance on tennis-specific exercises, drills, and training techniques.
• Monitor clients’ progress and adjust fitness plans as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
• Educate clients on proper nutrition, injury prevention, and overall wellness to enhance their tennis performance.
• Collaborate with tennis instructors, physical therapists, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to clients’ fitness and performance.
• Conduct new member assessments in accordance with club standards and track accordingly.
• Responsible for daily processing of all accounting procedures around personal training and or group session(s) accurately.
• Responsible for submitting monthly forecasts for expected sessions, assessments, and new client goals.
• Maintain current fitness-related certifications including CPR/AED and stay current with industry trends, research, and advancements in tennis fitness and apply this knowledge to training programs.
About You
• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or a related field preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) credential from a recognized organization (e.g., NASM, ACSM, NSCA) required.
• Advanced and specialized certifications such as the International Tennis Performance Association (iTPA) certification are highly preferred.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing tennis-specific fitness programs.
• Strong knowledge of biomechanics, kinesiology, and exercise physiology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire clients to achieve their fitness goals.
• Passion for tennis and a deep understanding of the game.
• A minimum of 5 hours of fee-based work per week.
• Indoor and outdoor work.
