Working hours for the role include rotating 12-hour shifts, with a combination of day and night shifts. The structure currently includes a 3 & 4 day on rolling schedule (with a 7 day off break!) which rotates from day shift to night shift. Consistent overtime hours, paid at 1.5 x’s base hourly rate, anticipated monthly.PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONConstellation Energy Solutions is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Stationary Engineer I at our facility.PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES• Maintain safe working conditions; identifies, corrects, and reports unsafe work areas.• Operate assigned plant as Stationary Engineer I in compliance with published Company operating and safety policies/procedures.• Assure water quality through the use of all prescribed water management procedures at assigned plants.• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and minor repair on plant equipment as assigned.• Maintain complete maintenance records and reports.• Write and follow-up on work orders for identification and repair of plant equipment.• Maintain customer relationships with all customers served by assigned plants.• Monitor assigned plant operations through various controls systems/technologies.• Ability to be on-call and respond to emergency situations, as necessary.• Participate in and successfully complete all mandatory training to ensure compliance with published Company operating and safety policies and procedures.• Participate in and successfully complete all mandatory training to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.• Operate and maintain district energy plant to assure the safe, efficient, and continuous commodity supply to meet system demands.Job Specifications:Minimum QualificationsEducation/Experience:• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.• 5+ years of experience in operating centrifugal chillers or high pressure steam boilers and auxiliary equipment; or, equivalent combination of education and or related experience or training.• Desire five years of experience in operating high pressure steam boilers and auxiliary equipment or five or more years of related experience and training.• Good understanding of high-pressure steam boilers, centrifugal chillers and associated auxiliary equipment.• Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.• Ability to climb and tolerate heights up to 75 feet and to tolerate confined spaces.• Ability to lift up to 65lbs.• Must be able to enter confined spaces.• Skills/Abilities:• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, and clients/customers.• Strong planning and organizational skills.• Good knowledge in use of computer software i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.• Ability to work effectively with a minimum level of supervision.• Ability to define problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations by collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.• Ability to complete all required paperwork and documentation in a correct and timely manner.Preferred Qualifications• 2 years of trade school or bachelors degree in related course of study.• Desire related experience in production facilities.• Desire knowledge of Siemens DCS software.• Desire varied mechanical maintenance background, especially pipefitting and welding.• A background with instrumentation and controls experience a plus.
