Job Summary
This position is a direct report to the Technology Group Product Manager of the Work Management and Mobile Solutions Team. The Solution Architect is responsible for the design of technology solutions in support of core business functions by evaluating end user needs, client goals, budgets and existing applications to define system requirements and technical standards.
This position provides:
• Effective communication of IT activities, processes and solutions within the IT department
• Solution Architect for IT, ensuring project delivery exceeds customer needs and expectations
• Strategic communication which drives IT & Business adoption and usage of technology resulting in increased benefit realization, value creation, and the achievement of ROI.
Job Responsibilities
The Solution Architect is responsible for:
• Developing solution architecture framework to support product solutions for core business functions, ensuring alignment with other products as well as the overall IT enterprise.
• Providing leadership, oversight and guidance on application design and development, serving as an expert on technical capabilities. Provide vision, define system and application architecture, problem anticipation and problem-solving ability across the landscape.
• Designing, documenting and maintaining system processes, report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product team. Establish a deep understanding of our customers business and technical needs and communicating key insights and findings to product team. Provide deep software/hardware technical architecture expertise to ensure proper solution design.
• Overseeing all aspects of SAP system solution implementations within this product group.
• Aligning and supporting the strategic direction of broader IT organization. Provide insight to the strategic vision/plans/roadmap and identify key innovative technologies and product enhancements that improve customer experience and simplify current landscape.
• Establishing strong partnerships with vendors and set clear expectations. This includes negotiating agreements, establishing service level agreements, and ensuring contracts are in place to support the product needs.
• Facilitating and coordinating external benchmarking/best practice efforts and relationships with other business organizations.
• Providing specific contributions as directed by the Group Product Manager.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience:
• Bachelor’s in computer science, Engineering or a related field
• At least 6 years relevant experience within the information technology field or an industry with reliance on technical expertise.
• 4 or more years solution architecture experience with proven experience designing solutions for core business functions.
• 4 or more years of customization experience working in SAP, preferably Work Management module.
• Experience with designing secure software solutions used in large enterprises including New Technologies, SAP Work Management, Analytics/Big Data, Cloud – SaaS, PaaS and IaaS solutions.
• Experience in a team lead role through projects and other work planning experiences.
• Proven experience with supporting large sized complex projects addressing issues & concerns to ensure project meets IT & business goals.
• Strong experience with aligning project solutions to overall corporate enterprise architecture.
• Work and communicate with a wide range of people – peers, vendors, staff members, broader functional and business leadership, and others. Consistently demonstrate professional, positive, and approachable attitude, demeanor and discretion.
Desired Skills, Competencies, Education and Experience:
• Master’s in a technology related field.
• Discipline Certifications (i.e., SAP Technical certifications, AWS, Certified Solution Architect).
• Understanding of security processes, standards & issues involved in multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications, especially in a regulated industry.
• Specific experience with Work Management processes in SAP, Salesforce integrated with MuleSoft.
• Utility and/or Regulatory Business Knowledge.
