The Raytheon Solutions Design & Integration (SDI) team is seeking a Sr. Principal System Administrator to join our Advanced Technology & Integration team. In this role, you will work independently, and as a part of an integrated product team supporting a wide range of computing and network configurations. You must have proven experience in Linux, Windows, and Client & Infrastructure Provisioning and Configuration.
Success in this role means timely configuration and provisioning of clients and infrastructure to meet defined requirements with minimal rework. Providing troubleshooting and integration support as needed.
This position is an ONSITE role in Richardson, TX.
What You Will Do
• Install, configure, update, and remove system and application software.
• Harden Linux & Windows server and client installations
• Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. Install, configure, update, and remove system hardware, storage, backups (servers, workstations, transceivers, network interface cards).
• Troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems.
• Documenting hardware and software configurations.
• Understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies.
• Update/patch system operating systems.
• Provision and configure new systems for internal customers, ensuring alignment with defined requirements.
• Perform minimal rack and stack activities as necessary.
• Manage hardware inventory and ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Full time 100% Onsite position
• Ability to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification within 6 months of start date.
Qualifications You Must Have:
• Typically requires bachelor’s degree and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or a master’s degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Must be able to obtain U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Experience with configuring Windows and Linux/Unix servers.
• Experience using VMware vCenter, vSphere, VDI (Horizon), ESX, or other virtual computing methods.
• Experience in mentoring or leading others
Qualifications We Prefer:
• Experience with HP and Dell server and storage hardware.
• Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
• Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
• Familiar with Splunk & Centrify products
• Familiar with Ansible or any type of automation/scripting.
• CompTIA Security+ certification or other industry-recognized certifications relevant to a Linux/Unix/Windows System Administrator

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD – 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
