About The Job
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Leader to oversee and optimize procurement operations across our organization’s 250 locations, managing a total annual spend of 1.2 billion dollars. This role requires expertise in matrixed managing buyers, establishing efficient procurement strategies, and implementing decentralized versus centralized processes. The ideal candidate will excel in managing RFP processes for major procurement categories with a strong focus on product procurement. Proficiency in SAP and Ariba platforms is preferred, along with the ability to leverage Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to systematically integrate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) concepts into our business operations.
Key Responsibilities Of This Role Include
Procurement Strategy and Leadership:
• Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and financial objectives, overseeing a total annual spend of 1.2 billion dollars.
• Manage a team of matrixed buyers across 250 locations to ensure consistent procurement practices and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Establish and optimize decentralized versus centralized procurement processes to minimize overall network resource requirements while enhancing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive sourcing strategies and processes, including leadership of respective cross functional teams for each major sourced commodity and/or service group.
• Collaborate with leadership and teams across the business to establish clear and concise programs to ensure successful retention, succession planning, and advancement of future leaders.
Category Management And RFP Processes
• Lead and manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) processes for major procurement categories, ensuring competitive bidding, contract compliance, and cost savings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define category strategies, negotiate contracts, and cultivate strong supplier relationships that drive value and innovation.
Systemization And Process Improvement
• Systemize procurement processes using SAP and Ariba platforms to streamline workflows, enhance data accuracy, and optimize procurement efficiency across the organization.
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to standardize processes, reduce operational costs, and improve overall procurement performance metrics.
• Drive automation/digitalization of the procure to pay experience (e-procurement, onboard, perform and sustain) in close collaboration with IT, Operations, Parts/Materials, Product Development, Logistics, ESG, HSE, A/P, etc.
Sales And Operations Planning (S&OP) And MRP Integration
• Utilize Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to align procurement activities with sales forecasts and operational plans.
• Disaggregate sales forecasts to systematically install Material Requirements Planning (MRP) concepts into procurement strategies, ensuring optimal inventory management and production scheduling.
• Optimize our services supply base (insource versus outsource) with a consistent approach aligned to company goals.
Supplier Relationship Management
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness of goods and services.
• Develop, deploy and monitor supplier performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and ensure appropriate SLAs and feedback mechanisms are in place across all large and or single source vendors to drive supplier accountability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Successful Candidates Will Possess
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
• Master’s degree or relevant certifications preferred.
• 10+ years in progressive Procurement roles with 8+ years in leadership capacity
• Team player who can think and act strategically and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get work done
• Proven track record of success in sr. procurement leadership roles with extensive experience managing large-scale procurement operations and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• With an ability to connect procurement strategy into actions with business needs at the forefront; can communicate the vision and drive execution to all audiences
• Expertise in SAP and Ariba platforms, with the ability to leverage technology to optimize procurement processes, data management, and analytics.
• Strong understanding of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and experience integrating Material Requirements Planning (MRP) concepts into procurement strategies and Advanced analytical, financial, and business acumen skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex RFP processes, negotiate contracts, and drive cost savings initiatives across multiple categories and locations.
• Experience in a branch/field-based environment with service intensive operating models is optimal
• Excellent communication, negotiation, change management, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
