Description
We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing industry, located in Mooresville, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for various financial activities including processing month-end balancing and journal entries, general ledger analysis, and preparing monthly reports. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
• Accurately process month-end balancing and journal entries.
• Complete the month-end process in a timely manner.
• Conduct general ledger analysis of accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare the monthly Standard Reporting Package for review.
• Extend credit to customers and manage wire transfers effectively.
• Prepare sales tax returns for multiple states, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Process employee expense reports and manage reimbursements.
• Prepare monthly inventory reports for Inventory Management, providing insights for decision-making.
• Use Microsoft Excel and ERP for efficient data management and reporting.
• Perform account reconciliations including balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliations.
• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role within the manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Demonstrated knowledge in maintaining general ledger and creating journal entries
• Expertise in executing month-end close procedures
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with ERP software
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA certification is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
• Proven experience in financial forecasting and financial risk analysis.
