SQL Server DBA/Developer-Python–Hybrid/Newark NJ Contractor

Our direct client, a global financial services company, is seeking a SQL Server DBA/Developer for a long-term hybrid consulting engagement.

You will need strong experience with SQL Server database administration and some SQL Server development experience using T-SQL and proficiency coding in Python. Some experience with Azure is required. You will provide application and performance tuning to assist in the transition from “On Prem” platforms to a Azure cloud platform.

Hybrid position- 3 days remote and 2 days onsite in Newark NJ

Pay rate is $70 to $80 per hour W2, (some flexibility), No Third parties please, no third party W2 referrals.

Must Have Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in Azure Cloud Platform – Databricks/Synapse/Fabric

• 5+ years of experience as a database developer in MS SQL Server Platform, including TSQL

• 3+ years of experience developing and deploying applications in Snowflake

• Good in SQL, data querying, and performance optimization techniques

• Experience in developing Data warehouse and OLTP applications

• Proficiency in data modeling, database design, and SQL

• Proficiency in Aurora Postgres database clusters on AWS

• Working in an Agile environment

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL code to process data from various data pipelines

• Create and maintain data storage solutions, such as data warehouses, data lakes, and databases

• Integrate and merge data from different sources while ensuring data quality, consistency, and accuracy

• Manage and optimize data warehouses to store and organize data for efficient retrieval and analysis

• Cleanse, preprocess, and transform data to meet business requirements and maintain data quality
