Responsibilities
In keeping with the Dignity Health healthcare philosophy the Ultrasound Technologist performs cardiovascular procedures at a technically proficient level. Positions and instructs the patient operates ultrasound equipment and determines the technical factors for ultrasound procedures. Ensures correct marking/labeling of images provide and confirm proper/adequate documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis. Technically proficient in a variety of ultrasound procedures. Ability to train staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement. Position requires ingenuity and initiative for the diagnosis and therapy of disease.
Qualifications
– Three (3) years recent acute care experience preferred performing Cardiovascular Ultrasound procedures in an acute facility if not registered or registry eligible (i.e. ARDMS RDCS or RVT).
– Current registered or registry eligible (i.e. RDCS and/or RVT) ECE to maintain certification current BLS CPR card.
– Demonstrates knowledge in both general and cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
– Must have working knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures.
– Must also know departmental protocols and procedures.
– Ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members physicians and the patient population.
– Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
– Self-motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.
– Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment.
– Working in acute care setting performing such jobs as cardiac echos TEEs cardiovascular stress tests and vascular studies.
