This team is responsible for the engineering assignments on Cigna’s digital assets. The role will closely collaborate with the digital analysts, product owners, architects, quality engineers, and other delivery teams/personnel within Cigna Digital to develop and deploy solutions for Cigna’s customer and client facing web and mobile applications. The candidate may also be asked to contribute to other front, middle, and backend development efforts as strategic priorities and work evolve.The ideal candidate is a motivated, self-starter that brings a fresh perspective and passion to solve complex business and technical challenges in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.Key Responsibilities:• Collaborate with Cigna Digital peers to develop and deploy changes on Cigna Digital’s web and mobile applications• Participate in design and product requirement sessions in order to come up with new solutions or modify existing solutions, delivered in an agile manner• Be involved in all phases of the software development process all the way to production deployment and development support• Work in a large-scale application environment with multiple teams on a shared code base• Contribute to larger Cigna Digital community of engineering best practices and code reviews• Be part of a fast-moving team, working with the latest tools and open source technologiesRequired Qualifications:• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript and TypeScript• Experience with React, or React Native, and styling engines such as Tailwind• Web application development experience with compiled languages such as Java, or Go• Experience with single-page applications• Understanding of client side (mobile app and web) debugging tools• Experience with Node.js• Ability to multitask with diverse types of work and adapt as priorities change• Motivated self-starter with a passion to learn and share emerging technologies independently• Experience working in an Agile or continuous delivery development life cycleDesired Qualifications:• Experience with developing RESTful web services• Understanding of modern web/mobile technology stack – BFF (backend for frontend), microservices, and cloud based/containerized application solutions (Kubernetes/OpenShift)• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Red Hat, Kubernetes)• Relational database experience using Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB, Postgres, or SQLServerIf you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.Qualified applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, age, disability, sex, childbirth (including pregnancy) or related medical conditions including but not limited to lactation, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran or military status, religion, national origin, ancestry, marital or familial status, genetic information, status with regard to public assistance, citizenship status or any other characteristic protected by applicable equal employment opportunity laws.Please note that you must meet our posting guidelines to be eligible for consideration.
