Senior Structural Engineer – Transportation
Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer – Buildings and Facilities to support our Cordoba Transportation Sector. In this position, you will support and lead structural engineering design projects supporting building and other vertical facilities in transit, aviation, and other sectors. The role focuses on structural engineering design of new-build facilities and assessment and evaluation of existing facilities. You will be responsible for the design, cost estimating, project planning, and coordinating with other disciplines during the development, engineering, and construction of mega-capital projects.
Responsibilities
• Lead the planning and engineering of structural design elements for vertical projects in the transportation sector, including aviation, transit, and transportation facilities.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in buildings and/or other industrial facilities.
• Put together contract documents (plans and specifications) that meet client requirements, are constructable, and are coordinated with other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule
• Supervise and mentor staff
• Manage and regularly report on project performance, accruals and utilization
• Lead and participate in meetings with clients, state agencies, city agencies, utility service representatives and project teams.
• Deliver projects on time, within client budgets, and according to client, regulatory, and company requirements and quality control procedures.
• Participate and collaborate on project teams and across company sectors
• Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering
• California Professional Engineer’s or Structural Engineer’s license (or ability to acquire within one year)
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience
• Experience in structural engineering in industrial facilities in California
• Microsoft Office, REVIT, RAM, STAAD, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software that utilizes finite element analysis.
• Experience in design calculations and layouts
• Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood
• Requires understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering
• Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
• Previous experience designing transportation facilities and buildings
• Experience in structural engineering in industrial facilities in Los Angeles County
• Salary Range: $200,000 – $230,000
• Work Location: Hybrid two days in Los Angeles, CA.
