This position will be located at one of our fastest-growing, BAE Systems facilities, in Dallas, TX, working on-site. The Program Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring seamless transition of projects from development into our manufacturing environment in Dallas and to assure that the products or services meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance. This individual needs to have solid communications skills as well as having the ability to engage across all levels of the organization in building effective relationships.

– Enjoys working with and coaching quality engineers and inspectors to continuously improve execution success across programs and projects
– Possesses strong communication and presentation skills to facilitate effective communication at all levels of the organization
– Has an agile leadership style and able to adjust one’s approach to fit the situation as a driver, coach, mentor, or teacher
– A visible leader who takes a collaborative approach with others and comes across as approachable
– Relates well with individuals across all levels and functions of the organization, builds appropriate rapport, constructive and effective relationships
Key job duties include:
– Ability to support AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) activities.
– Can complete required training (AS9102, IPC-A610 and IPC-A-620)
Activities include:
– Able to lead our local internal audit program and participate in root cause/corrective action (RCCA) activities and close opportunities for improvement (OFI)
– Review of FAI reports in NetInspect, and create nonconforming material reports (NCR) for FAI findings
– Lead Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) program by driving activities to closure
– Support Product development activities by participating in design reviews early in the development process and close to Transfer to Production (TTP)
– Participate in a document review board (DRB) keeping command media relevant and current
– Ability to support manufacturing issues, report nonconformances to product requirements and any noncompliance to processes and procedures
– Data analysis, prepare slides for presentation in management reviews
– Review process routers, and participate in design/development project reviews
– Participate in reviews and approvals of change orders to production data packages in PLM
– Review contracts, Program Task Descriptions (PTD) and Quality Plans
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
• Experience working in the electronics manufacturing field, and familiarity with ESD and FOD precautions.
• Certified or has the ability to complete IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 certification and communicate with multifunctional teams to resolve Quality issues that arise in manufacturing.
• Can work in a highly utilized Quality team, and is flexible in taking on tasks
• Ability to work with Microsoft Office applications at a basic skill level
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Ability to complete training as requested
• Current IPC certifications and FAI experience are preferred (ASQ Certification: CQE/CQA, Green Belt/Black Belt Certified)
• Experience with AS9100, PPV/AS9102 FAI, and AS9145/PPAP
• Experience with a Quality Improvement Program (Zero Defect, Lean Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, etc..)
• Perform and Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities
• Ability to effectively teach/communicate quality principles and program requirements to non-quality personnel
• Ability to create and manipulate Pivot tables and analyze data
• Experience using Solumina and TipQA or other Quality Databases
• Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $83900 – $142600
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
