The Role:
DailyPay’s Public Policy team consists of three divisions: (1) Government Relations, (2) Legislation & Policy and (3) Communications & Public Affairs. This role will lead the communications & public affairs division and report to the Director of Public Policy.
As this division’s inaugural hire, DailyPay is seeking an experienced and creative communications professional to lead our policy communications strategy, based at headquarters in New York City. You will be overseeing public affairs activities at the local, state and federal levels to tell the DailyPay story and advance our policy objectives. While this position will report to the Director of Public Policy, there will also be significant coordination and collaboration with the Head of Communications and their team.

How You Will Make an Impact:
• Drive communication planning and strategy to tell stories that resonate with target government audiences
• Write and place op-eds for DailyPay leaders and external partners
• Engage with DailyPay clients on communications content to advance our policy objectives
• Assist in issues management, advance planning and scenario mapping to develop response plans and materials for various potential issues, including policy and regulatory challenges
• Develop media engagement strategies and enhance our relationship with essential media and influencers at the national, state and local level by telling the story of how DailyPay
What You Bring to The Team:
• Professional with 5+ years of experience in a communications or public affairs role, in-house for an advocacy organization (preferred), for an elected official (preferred), on a campaign (preferred), as a consultant, or at a company
• Strong writing skills and communications planning experience
• Experience conceiving and drafting kick ass white papers and op-eds, and then knowing how to promote this messaging work across a diverse array of media platforms
• Strong understanding of the U.S. political and policy landscape
• Experience successfully navigating and collaborating cross-functionally
• A self-starter obsessed with deadlines with the ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with a remote team, and manage multiple priorities
• Demonstrated interest in a communications career and promoting positive societal change

Pay Transparency. DailyPay takes a market-based approach to compensation, which may vary depending on your location. United States locations are categorized into three tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The salary ranges are listed by geographic tier. Additionally, this role may be eligible for variable incentive compensation and stock options. Where a candidate fits within the compensation range for a role is based on their demonstrated experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity.
