Legal Counsel NAM -EMEA
We are actively seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Counsel specializing in Commercial Law, with a focus on contract negotiation and privacy, to join our dynamic team. As a Legal Counsel , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring legal compliance, managing contractual matters, and providing strategic advice to various departments within our organization. We are seeking someone adaptable to our unique environment, and has a desire to contribute meaningfully to our team’s growth. This position is fully remote and open to candidates across the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Advice and Counsel:
• Offer timely and accurate legal guidance on a wide range of commercial and contractual matters.
• Assist various departments within the organization with legal queries.
Privacy Compliance:
• Stay informed about privacy laws and regulations.
• Advise on compliance requirements, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection laws.
• Assist in developing and implementing privacy policies and procedures.
Sales Support, Customer Contract Negotiation, and Review:
• Collaborate closely with the sales team throughout the entire sales cycle.
• Provide timely legal support to ensure alignment of contracts with company policies and legal standards.
• Lead negotiations with customers in North America (NAM) and Europe, the Middle East, and Asia (EMEA).
• Build strong, trusting relationships with our sales team by being responsive, creative, and flexible.
Contract Negotiation and Management:
• Negotiate contracts with customers.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including but not limited to:
• Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
• Supplier Agreements
• Intercompany Agreements
• Partnership Agreements
Internal Training and Knowledge Transfer.
• Develop and implement legal policies, playbooks, guidelines, and contract templates. Train colleagues in the legal department and other areas on legal issues, contract negotiation, and other topics from time to time.
Risk Management:
• Identify legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate them.
• Ensure the organization operates within legal and regulatory boundaries.
Requirements:
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school in the United States
• Admission to the state bar where you reside
• 3 years of legal experience, with at least 1 years in-house
• Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts in the technology sector
• Experience in privacy matters, and/or data protection law preferably within a global multinational and customer-focused company.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Familiarity with trademark law
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in start-up businesses or as a sole attorney.
• Experience negotiating complex transactions involving security, privacy, and IP issues.
• Certification in privacy law (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/US)
• Experience in handling international legal matters.
• Fluency in Spanish
