Eaton’s CTO Corporate Technology Office division is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist. This position offers a HYBRID work schedule. The position will be located at our Eaton Southfield Michigan location. Relocation assistance will be provided.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $128250.0 – $188100.0 a year.

What You’ll Do
Senior Engineering Specialist will be focused on developing technology in Power Distribution Systems for transportation (ground and aerospace), including advance solid state circuit protection, fault detection technology, to join our team in Southfield MI (USA). The primary role of this position is to address modern challenges associated with increasing electrification trends in transportation (Passenger cars, Medium & Heady duty trucks and electrive aricrafts) and the novel solid state circuit protection, power distribution systems/devices and fault detection devices for on-board high voltage systems.
In This Role
• Develop and design new technologies for Power Distribution Systems for transportation (ground and aerospace), including advance circuit protection, fault detection and help Eaton’s products and services to differentiate and lead in the emerging market of transportation electrification (i.e. Electric Vehicles and More Electric Aircrafts).
• Lead and drive R&D proposals and build technology pipeline funded by both government and non-government programs
• Develop and execute agile work plans for iterative and incremental project delivery, participating in design and implementation reviews
• Evaluate business requirements and consult with business stakeholders to determine novel solutions to targeted problems for end-users
• Innovate, invent, and challenge state-of-art design & process by securing critical intellectual properties through patents and publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
• Support global technology programs utilizing Eaton’s internal PreLaunch and AgileStartsTM processes including Gate Reviews, Technology Reviews, and Project Reviews.
Qualifications
Required Basic Qualifications:
• PhD degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field from an accredited institution focus on Transportation power distribution systems, circuit protection and/or fault detection of Power system
• 7+ years of progressive experience in research and development, Innovation and/or Product development of Power Distribution systems with a proven track record of developing high-quality technology solutions.
• Knowledge in EVs electric aircrafts architecture technology, fundamentals of power distribution systems, electrical architecture, circuit protection, solid state technology for transportation electrification (on-ground and/or aerospace) applications, as well as major trends in EV markets and industry trends
• Must be willing to relocate to Southfield Michigan. Relocation assistance will be provided for those located in the USA & PR country.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with system engineering and integration projects and be able to identify and address technical and engineering challenges.
• Thorough understanding of project management principles, forecasting, optimization, and design processes, including Agile/Lean startup methodologies
• Demonstrated experience with delivering minimal viable products in the relevant areas
• Experience executing large government-funded projects
