Our Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking a Senior Director to lead our Fulfillment Center Finance team within the Operations and Customer Service organization. This leader will partner with business owners, HR, technologists, and other Finance leaders to the operating and capital expenditures for our Fulfillment Center network in support of our mission to be to be the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents (and partners), everywhere. The role will directly own budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for these costs including CEO and CFO level interactions. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, successful relevant experience with Executive level engagement, and demonstrated success operating at depth to provide insights to deliver results. This role must balance many deliverables simultaneously, improve and transform processes and relationships across several different and expanding business models, and display strong leadership and development skills both with direct reports and across the broader organization. This role will report to the head of Operations and Customer Service finance for Chewy.
What You’ll Do:
• Deliver accurate and detailed budget, forecast, and actual results for Chewy’s fulfillment center operations.
• Utilize actual results and other reporting to drive tactical decision making by business partners and stakeholders to meet or beat Chewy’s financial plans.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams in Fulfillment, Logistics, Merchandizing, and Marketing to improve total Chewy decision making and financial results.
• Effectively manage numerous projects at a given time in a fast paced environment
• Lead a team including hiring and developing this talent to build a high performing team.
What You’ll Need:
• 10+ years of relevant experience in finance or analytics; familiarity with an e-commerce, CPG, or retail business model, preferred
• MBA preferred
• Strong process and change management orientation, including managing systems and stakeholders
• Strong Communication skills – ability to distill and convey complex information messages clearly and succinctly
• Strong data visualization skills and familiarity with BI tools and Management Reporting systems (Oracle preferred)
• Advanced analytical skills and the ability to drill down to the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture.
• Results-oriented, highly energetic, dynamic individual with hands-on mentality
• Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in both early stage and corporate environments with ability to deliver clear improvement to ongoing processes as the enterprise scales
• Collaborative, detail-oriented, and execution-focused
• Ability to self-start and self-direct work; ability to work independently while managing multiple projects
• Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them through to completion
• Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and rapidly changing operating conditions while still delivering to expectations.
• Experience leading and building high performing teams
• Position may require light travel
