In the role of Senior Cyber Engineer, you will be at the forefront of defending our systems and networks from cyber threats. Your expertise will be crucial in designing and implementing robust security measures, conducting thorough vulnerability assessments, and crafting strategic responses to potential security incidents. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance our cybersecurity protocols, ensuring our data and operations remain secure.
Your daily responsibilities will include monitoring network traffic for unusual activity, identifying and mitigating threats, and developing automation scripts to streamline our security processes. You will be expected to lead incident response activities, providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members. Moreover, you will play a key role in the design and execution of security training programs to equip our staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute to our security posture.
You will also be responsible for conducting regular security audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and staying abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies. – Proven experience in a senior-level cybersecurity engineering role, ideally with a minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience.
– Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles, protocols, and technologies, including firewalls, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), and cryptography.
– Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, C++, and Java.
– Experience with network security technologies and tools, such as Wireshark, Nessus, and Metasploit.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think like a hacker to anticipate and prevent security breaches.
– Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
– Relevant certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) are highly desirable.
