Pay PhilosophyThe typical starting salary range ($94,600 – $118,000) for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. Corporate Actuarial Reserving is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support our mission of protecting the financial health of the company by monitoring our reserve liabilities and creating early warning systems to identify and address potential problems. We are uniquely positioned to influence business strategy with regular, direct communications to the CFO and CEO, as well as SBU Actuarial leadership teams. The role requires a demonstration of intellectual curiosity in order to identify trends, potential issues, and their underlying causes. The successful candidate will be an organized and creative problem solver who is able to create flexible and efficient solutions to meet our needs.Responsibilities:• Deliver ongoing monitoring and profitability insights• Proactively monitor a variety of reports, diagnostics, and environmental factors to identify emerging trends and areas of concern• Collaborate with peers and Subject Matter Expertss across the department to understand important issues for various products and lines of business• Automate, standardize, and improve reporting and monitoring tools• Communicate regular updates to peers and managementQualifications• Bachelor’s degree required• 5+ years relevant experience; excel proficiency required• Sound knowledge of key financial and insurance concepts• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency required; experience with SAS, VBA, and PowerBI strongly preferred, but other programming experience will be considered• Ability to work independently and seek out resources needed• Ability to balance multiple competing priorities• Organization, problem solving and analytical skillsAbout UsAt Liberty Mutual, our purpose is to help people embrace today and confidently pursue tomorrow.
