Job Description
• Operating laboratory polymer compounding and film extrusion equipment.
• Characterizing polymer compounds and films.
• Film conversion and application testing.
• Basic equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Data entry and trial reporting.
• Ordering laboratory supplies.
• Ensuring safety. Participating in R&D team meetings.
• Exposure and opportunity to work inside the laboratory practicing wet chemistry skills such as property testing such as FTIR, Karl Fisher moisture content, tear/tensile strength testing, and solubility testing.
• Exposure to analytical instrumentation such as Gas Chromatography, LCMS, and HPLC.
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Polymer Engineering, Chemistry, Material, or Polymer Science or related degree
• Knowledge of chemistry and polymer processing equipment and maintenance
• Basic knowledge of statistics
• Understanding of the function & meaning of testing results
