Sales Engineer – Territory Specialist (outside sales)
Location: Minnesota (preferably near St. Paul)
Overview:
Our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking company, is seeking a results-driven and motivated Sales Engineer to join their sales team. This role involves working closely with the Territory District Manager to cultivate existing customer relationships and explore new business opportunities within the expansive territory covering North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Iowa. The successful candidate will be based in Minnesota, working from home, and will be on the road approximately 4 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support District Manager: Collaborate with the Territory District Manager in solution selling to prospect account bases.
• Sales Strategy: Partner with the sales team to plan, prepare, and execute on a comprehensive sales strategy for the assigned territory.
• Customer Engagement: Successfully align customer requirements with proposed product solutions, effectively communicating the unique value proposition of the entire product line.
• Sales Execution: Sell the entire product line directly and through appointed distribution within the assigned territory, meeting or exceeding sales volume quotas for both direct and indirect sales.
• Lead Follow-up: Follow up on leads generated through various channels, including central marketing activities, cold calls, and telemarketing.
• Technical Support: Provide initial technical support on equipment-related issues within the specified territory.
• Sales Monitoring: Monitor sales progress, orders, and representative information, providing regular reports to Vision management.
• Opportunity Identification: Identify and exploit new sales opportunities within the territory.
• Reporting: Generate weekly activity reports and monthly forecast reports, maintaining and updating CRM with activity and demonstration reports.
• Training: Install and train customers on all Vision Engineering equipment, ensuring Representatives/Agents are qualified to install and train independently.
• Inventory Oversight: Oversee inventory issued directly and to Representatives under their control.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in a sales role.
• Ideal candidate may have some electronics industry experience or a relevant degree.
• Ability to work independently and self-manage daily activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; some IT knowledge is helpful.
• Must be based in Minnesota to cover the large territory with the ability to travel 3-4 days per week (driving; company vehicle provided).

Additional Information:
• Salary: $60,000 plus uncapped commission
• Working Hours: 8 am – 5 pm
Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
