The University of Houston College Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) in partnership with UH Population Health (UHPH) invites qualified applicants to apply for a full-time, non-tenure track (NTT) research faculty position at the rank of Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology. We are seeking outstanding individuals with research experience. The successful candidate will be a non-voting faculty member of the Department of Sociology who will work full-time with UH Population Health. Increasing research productivity and building a collaborative research enterprise in community-engaged, implementation science within UHPH will be the primary focus.
Teaching and departmental committee assignments in Sociology will not be required. The successful candidate will have a PhD or other terminal degree in a population health related field, have a track record of health-related publications, and demonstrated experience in health and health care settings, particularly in implementation science, mixed methods research, health disparities, and chronic diseases. The Research Assistant Professor will be expected to develop grant applications in response to intramural and extramural funding opportunities, conduct and assist with data analyses as needed, provide qualitative and quantitative research consultations, work with interdisciplinary and inter-university teams, and collaborate on the development of scholarly manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentation at scientific conferences. The position is grant funded and subject to continued funding.

Qualifications
:
• PhD or doctorate degree in epidemiology, population health, or a related field from an accredited institution
• Experience working in a large, research-oriented academic and/or corporate environments
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience in working in and with interdisciplinary and interuniversity teams
• Demonstrated experience in mixed-methods implementation science, community-health science, epidemiology, or statistical analysis, preferred
• A successful record of peer-reviewed publications
