The Regional Human Resources Manager is a leader in our Des Plaines Distribution center, and responsible for leading, implementing, and executing Pet Food Experts (PFX) HR strategy across four locations. This role has direct responsibility for the Des Plaines, IL facility as well as facilities in Washington, Colorado, and California. The position reports directly to the HR Director, and will have three direct reports to support efforts in the region.
Schedule
• Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, onsite
• Travel, up to 50% (at least once per quarter to all facilities you support and once per year to Corporate in Pawtucket, RI)
Summary Of Job Functions
• Provide onsite support to the Des Plaines, IL distribution center by leading HR practices and objectives
• Manage a team of three HR business partners in support of PFX distribution centers in Denver, CO, Tacoma, WA, and Fontana, CA
• Coach and influence Distribution Center leadership on employee relations matters, legal guidance, staffing strategies, and disciplinary actions
• Lead Performance Management in the four locations including; talent reviews, year end performance reviews, succession planning, and training and development
• Lead investigations in Des Plaines, IL, and coach HRAs to ensure thorough investigations and resolutions
• Manage administrative functions in Des Plaines including payroll changes and audits, I9 management, and maintenance of files. This also includes finding areas to streamline administrative functions where possible
• Support Union efforts including grievance resolution and bargaining strategy in PFX Fontana, CA location
• Travel, up to 50% (at least once per quarter to all facilities you support and once per year to Corporate in Pawtucket, RI)
Experience, Skills And Knowledge Needed
• Proven working experience as the lead HR person in a distribution/manufacturing environment
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (HR or Business concentration preferred)
• Exposure and training in HR competencies including: talent management, employment law, compensation and benefits, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and health and safety
• A minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources roles
• Preferred candidate will have 3-4 years working in a distribution center/manufacturing company with 40+ FTE
