Job Summary
The Technologist must be skilled in handling a variety of radiological equipment in their respective correct settings.
Furthermore, the Technologist job involves administering fluoroscopy exams and c-arm functions in operating rooms as well as portable tests in various areas of the hospital. The Technologist must ensure that both inpatients and outpatients, including those in emergency departments, are provided with the necessary care. They must be able to work with patients who are either ambulatory or non-ambulatory, acutely or chronically ill. The Technologist must cover all imaging areas assigned to them. Along with their technical duties, the Technologist must ensure that the exam room is presentable for patients, transport patients, process exam records into the Radiology Information System, schedule radiology exams, clarify exam preparation instructions to patients, ensure correct orders and paperwork for billing and records purposes, and communicate with Medical Staff when needed. Technologists are responsible for having complete knowledge of PACS and being up-to-date. The Technologist may also share on-call duty with others and work in the evening, on holidays, and weekends as required by the department leader. Any equipment malfunction must be reported to their immediate Supervisor, Maintenance staff, or Bio-med Service. Finally, the Technologist must adhere to all policies and procedures outlined by the Medical Imaging Department, the facility, and the organization.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
• At a Level II trauma hospital, the individual consistently displays adept knowledge of patient positioning, fluoroscopy, DR principles, image processing, and quality control, as well as proficiency in planning their work schedule. The individual may also be of assistance to physicians in performing medical procedures.
• The healthcare provider takes into account the patient’s medical records and the doctors’ directives before administering appropriate tests. Questions may be posed to radiologists for clarification.
• The caregiver offers specialized attention to patients of all ages.
• Demonstrates proficiency in administering the correct amount of contrast media utilizing proper aseptic techniques and documenting the procedure in the patient’s chart. Completed the necessary injector training.
• Employs effective tactics to cater to the needs of patients and other stakeholders whilst adhering to office protocols, both in-person and over the phone.
• I will be a part of a cohesive team of imaging departments and will assist in organizing patient care and movement throughout the healthcare environment.
• Supporting the professional development of other employees and students is a key responsibility for Technologists at Monument Health. This entails providing assistance to the imaging staff, radiography students, and physicians in their quest to enhance technical expertise.
• Consistently displays exceptional skills in managing a variety of complicated tasks involving outpatient exams, trauma cases, chronic and acute inpatient treatment for non-ambulatory patients, portable scans, scoliosis procedures, and the use of both fluoroscopy equipment in the department and c-arms during OR cases.
• To ensure safety, strict adherence to infection control measures is imperative.
• Skills in the safe handling and movement of patients using ceiling and other lifts are essential in minimizing risks associated with manual handling techniques.
• Patient satisfaction is given the utmost focus through the courteous and prompt scheduling of appointments. Maintaining precise and detailed records of patient information is crucial in ensuring efficient organization.
• Takes an active role in keeping the department running smoothly, by regularly cleaning workspaces, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and restocking necessary supplies.

Additional Requirements
Required:
Education – High School Diploma/GED Equivalent: General Studies
Graduate – Radiology Program
Certification – **Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification – American Heart Association (AHA); Radiologic Technologist (RT) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Preferred:
Experience – 1+ years of Radiographer Experience; Certification – Radiologic Technologist (RT) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• *Policy Number: MIS-7040-115 – Caregivers must be BLS certified upon employment or within their 90-day probation period.
Physical Requirements:
The requirement of this job may include infrequent use of up to 50 pounds of force, frequent usage of up to 30 pounds of force, and constant usage of up to 10 pounds of force when moving objects.
