Job Summary
The Radiology Technologist is an integral part of the healthcare team, and their ability to work collaboratively with other providers is essential. This helps to ensure that patients receive seamless, coordinated care that addresses all their needs.
In maintaining a well-presented exam room and ensuring that patients are safely transported, the Technologist assumes a crucial role. In addition, the Technologist is accountable for capturing exam information and adding it to the Radiology Information System, scheduling radiology exams, coaching patients on exam prepping directives, procuring proper orders and paperwork, and billing. The Technologist is also required to learn and maintain the knowledge level required for the PACS and collaborate with Medical Staff on occasion.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
• The individual exhibits a thorough grasp of patient positioning, CR/DR principles, Fluoroscopy, quality control, and processing of images, while also having an in-depth knowledge of acute care environments. They display excellent organizational skills in planning their work and may assist physicians during procedures.
• Committed to delivering outstanding customer service to every individual.
• I will work with other imaging departments to ensure that patients receive high-quality care and experience as little disruption as possible in their treatment journey.

• Shows a reliable knack for executing several challenging responsibilities effectively, and plays an instrumental role in the technical education of radiography students, imaging staff, and medical professionals.
• By following and adhering to infection-control regulations and standards, patients and personnel are protected from harm.
• The application of thorough radiologic safety procedures is vital for reducing the exposure of patients and staff to harmful radiation effects. Such measures include the use of beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, exposure factor knowledge, and the use of radiation badges for consistent monitoring
• The capability of fulfilling the needs of patients and others while adhering to office policies and procedures both in person and over the phone.
• An expert in facilitating the transfer of patients through the safe utilization of ceiling and other lifts.
• Plays an integral role in the upkeep of the department by keeping the workspace clean, performing routine preventive maintenance tasks, monitoring inventory levels, and notifying the appropriate personnel right away if any equipment malfunctions.
• Accurate proportions of contrast are thoughtfully prepared and administered, along with the application of aseptic measures as stated in the Infection Control guideline. The medical encodings of the contrast are appropriately documented in the patient’s chart. Injector training has been successfully accomplished.
• Assessment of the client’s situation, past medical experiences, and doctor’s instructions. Collaborates with radiologists to address any questions. Selects proper placement and then selects the suitable patient from the worklist.
• The assistant takes on the role of educating the patient and their family about the procedure that is to be performed.
• Extra responsibilities as required.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Education – High School Diploma/GED Equivalent: General Studies
Graduate – Radiology Program
Certification – **Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – American Heart Association (AHA); Radiologic Technologist (RT) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Preferred:
Experience – 1+ years of Radiographer Experience
Physical Requirements:
Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.
