Quote Reps use available resources and good judgment to provide quotes to customers in a timely manner and with the highest possible profit margin while remaining competitive in the marketplace. Responsible for ensuring the highest quality of customer service is exhibited for all quote department responsibilities.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Demonstrates the highest quality of customer service and effectively interacts with all internal and external business contacts.
Communicates requirements and interacts effectively with customers, suppliers, Sales, Products and other Mouser departments; demonstrates the ability to learn and understand profit margins, markups and competitive pricing to secure the best possible profit margins. Attends and contributes to supplier and company meetings.
Demonstrates proficient use of computers, networks, software programs, and other resources.
Returns and follows-up with quotes, suppliers, and Sales within Mouser’s required response time. Learns and demonstrates effective quoting skills for specific suppliers with minimum mistakes and errors. Evaluates and works quotes by fax, Bill of Materials, e-mail, Mouser quote system and other formats as required.
Supports and participates in company total quality process; represents the company in a professional manner; and is trustworthy and maintains confidentiality.
Exhibits strong analytical, organizational and time management skills. Analyzes the impact of decisions before execution and must be detailed and thorough in work habits with the ability to multi-task.
Regular attendance at work is an essential part of the job.
DUTIES
Contact suppliers to inquire about cost, lead time, stock information, and samples.
Decipher supplier quotes, price sheets, networks, and requests.
Provide pricing and lead time to Sales via Universe in the appropriate format and within the minimum mark-up, taking competition into account.
Accurately document all transactions in the quote, both internal and with the supplier.
Confirm delivery dates on unconfirmed or overdue POs placed with the supplier.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A two year degree preferred or at least three years of experience in purchasing, sales, business marketing, or administrative services.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
Exhibits potential for advancement to a Quote Specialist position
Exhibits working knowledge of purchasing, business marketing or sales
Proficient PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other software
Skills evaluation: Math 90%, Spelling 80%, Basic Excel 80%, and Typing 40 WPM.
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communications skills and etiquette. Interacts effectively with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization.
