Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms, with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking a Quality Assurance Test Manager to lead the execution of Morgan Lewis Information Technology Department’s software test strategy to ensure that our Technology solutions, whether COTS or custom in-house applications, exceed our end users’ expectations of quality and reliability.
Reporting to the Senior Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Test Manager will manage a team of quality assurance analysts in testing Morgan Lewis’ stack of applications. This position is accountable for test planning, execution, reporting and delivery of multiple technology platforms.
Primary Responsibilities Include
• Develops, implements, and maintains quality practices including methodologies, measurements, and reporting and drives process improvements and efficiencies.
• Works cooperatively within an integrated team of developers, desktop engineers, product managers, service owners, and QAE members in a variety of development environments and methodologies with fast-paced release cycles.
• Manages Quality Assurance team to implement and execute quality assurance test processes and leads initiatives to improve testing coverage and team efficiency; assures team deliverables and serves as a strong proponent of quality within the team.
• Defines cost and time effective system test strategies; identifies and reviews test plans, test cases and testing results to ensure documents are updated efficiently and appropriately.
• Recommends quality improvement practices and processes based on current and emerging technologies to improve performance, reduce costs, and/or reduce administrative time.
• Sets measurable objectives and defines training plans for team members; motivates team and delegates assignments and provides feedback (including career development) and regular status reports to staff and management. Demonstrated experience with managing a distributed team that includes resources within and outside the US.
• Enforces quality standards and change signoff requirements. Serves as escalation point for issues beyond staff’s authority; resolves conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or QA/technical issues.
• Leads by example; establishes clear expectations; sets direction and priorities; ensures that work levels are balanced among all staff; resolves internal staff issues in a timely manner; keeps staff informed of all appropriate information; builds effective team; delegates at appropriate level.
Experience/Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science/Information Technology and minimum of five (5) years of experience with developing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards in a highly visible technology environment, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in Jira and Confluence, Zephyr, or similar Test Management Platforms; Web services, testing methodologies (BDD / TDD), Microsoft Test Manager, application performance monitoring.
