The NISC IV program at Leidos is looking for a Quality Assurance System Engineer.
This Quality Assurance Systems Engineer will support the Weather Camera Program. This position would be for Service Quality Assurance and Operations/Maintenance coordination. This is a full time in-office position.

The FAA Weather Camera Program is focused on improving aviation safety across Alaska, Hawaii, and the Lower 48.
General tasking would be:
The ideal candidate will work with fielded technician teams to provide technical planning, system hardware-software-communications development and integration, remote site visual and data verification and validation. This position will support the FAA Weather Camera Program by coordinating and working closely with remote teams in the field to test and validate camera site installations across the country. This position will also track and troubleshoot system issues and outages, update images, establish new location site pages. This position will work with the team to develop, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems, reporting out to the team and the customer on a regular basis and provide system reporting for system and site operations and quality assurance tracking. Finally, this position will be expected to develop and implement system wide checks, gathering outage and intermittent site operations data, and creating consolidated reports as well as metrics data to track overall system performance. https://weathercams.faa.gov/
Site Maintenance and Outage support:
• Able to conduct calls to various ISP support channels for site outage and ticket information.
• Tracking open tickets to work with the technicians that are traveling to the field to work on sites.
• Closing tickets once outages have been resolved.
Camera Control Unit (CCU) equipment support:
• Provide tech support to the field technicians for pinging sites (devices), checking live image pulls, verifying all portions of the site to be active and working prior to tech departure.
• Assist with camera field alignments.
• Verify entries in the database are updated with new IP addresses.
• Basic TCP/IP understanding is beneficial (Full IT experience is NOT needed).
• Linux experience a plus as a lot of the troubleshooting takes place at the command line.
• SSH navigating from one terminal to another is a common task.
• Executing programs from command line.
• Understanding of SSH keys.
Clear day Validation:
Build clear day images for new sites.
• Define new annotations for new images.
• Work in Photoshop to manipulate the annotation data.
• Google Earth and Peakfinder can be taught but basic understanding would be helpful.
• Follow SOP’s for accepting a site for image creation, follow-up with second-level validator.
• Rebuild clear day images for existing sites that are needing changes for whatever reason. (Most of the same needs apply here as a new site).
• Weekly and bi-weekly ‘All Sites’ validation of clear day images and data accuracy.
• Good file management and communication/collaboration skills a necessity.
What Sets You Apart (Required Qualifications):
• Must be able to work onsite in Anchorage, AK. Partial telework potential with Manager’s approval later on.
• Basic Network IT software and hardware skills.
• Good file management and communication/collaboration skills.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks).
• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of prior relevant experience OR Masters with 2+ years prior relevant experience OR additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree may be considered/accepted.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $81,250.00 – $146,875.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
