Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital is a private behavioral health facility providing acute inpatient hospitalization for older children & adolescents; adult; and older adult patient populations suffering from psychiatric and substance dependency issues. For adolescents, we also offer residential treatment and group home care services.
Lighthouse is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who will be responsible for providing care in connection with the interdisciplinary team, under the supervision of a physician.
Qualifications/Licensure:
• Licensed by the South Carolina State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Current licensure/certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with authorization for prescriptive authority.
Position Details:
• Performs and records the patient history and physical examination in accordance with hospital policy and in compliance with standards and regulations. Establishes differential diagnosis and communicates findings with the physician.
• Orders appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures and provides follow-up care when needed.
• Synthesizes data to determine primary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing established medical principles.
• Demonstrates the ability to recognize and critically assess any changes in patient s condition and reports such to the physician.
• Facilitates coordination and development of a comprehensive and individual plan of care in collaboration with patient, family, and multidisciplinary team.
• Facilitates one on one communication with primary care physician regarding current and ongoing patient care needs.
• Acts as a hospitalist service liaison with patient care staff.
• Acts as a liaison and facilitator between hospitalist, staff members, case managers, and attending physician regarding patient.
