Position Summary:
Plans, organizes and coordinates project management activities across a variety of areas: strategic operations, communications, product development, program management, and web development in order to ensure the implementation of projects in a manner that maintains within budget, on-schedule, and of the highest quality.
The Center for Violence Prevention is a research, training, and technical assistance resource for schools, communities, policymakers, and the general public. It supports researchers, advocates, practitioners, and policymakers in violence prevention efforts.
They are looking to hire a Bilingual Project Manager to assist across multiple projects and administrative project and center tasks. research staff member. This person will assist in translating material and surveys and completing interviews/focus groups in Spanish to better serve our research population.
Position Key Accountabilities:
• Provides project management services to project staff, including program managers, communications, and web developers.
• Coordination and management of project planning, project development, and strategic planning among various staff and determines proper project delivery methods.
• Leads and supervises technology development.
• May coordinate e-learning projects with school administration, user groups, faculty, and staff.
• Oversees, and may perform cost estimating, design, project scheduling and budgeting, quality assurance, communication, procurement, and project closeout.
• May manage ongoing procurements and vendor relationships for state initiatives.
• Ensures project controls, tracking and performance measurement, and reporting and product delivery objectives are met.
• Oversees communications, internally and externally, including community engagement activities. Liaisons with UTHealth Communications.
• Responsible for assisting with the management, implementation, and launch of new products and services. Supports upper management with long-term planning, external relationship development, and staff development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in project management, leadership and planning, administration, or related field.
Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Health Psychology, or Social Science preferred
Minimum Experience:
Five years experience in project management, research, or a combination of higher education experience
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
