Job Title: Procurement Analyst
Location: Jackson, MS
Duration: 12 months (Possible of extension)
Job Description:
• Candidates must have experience in procurement, contracts, and purchasing but also knowledge of the guidelines set forth in the Mississippi Code.
• Additionally, procurement staff will support departments in obtaining necessary price quotes in accordance with relevant laws and regulations and will play a crucial role in coordinating the formal bid process by advertising proposals and soliciting bids on various agency projects.
• In addition to procurement responsibilities, the selected individual will be involved in property management tasks. This includes assisting in the acquisition, accountability, assignment, maintenance, and disposal of agency property.
• Successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting the overall efficiency of Client’s financial operations. To be successful as a public procurement professional, you should have the following skills and knowledge and be proficient in the following:

Required Skills/Experience
• Knowledge of contract management
• Knowledge of procurement and purchasing laws
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-based environment
• Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software
• Ability to coordinate and maintain relationships with cross-functional departments to ensure efficient operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff, and other outside contacts.
Preferred/Not Required
• Mississippi government procurement experience
